Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Portrait Journey (Siders.ai, “we”, “us”). By creating or signing a card, you agree to them.
The service
Portrait Journey lets you create a collaborative card in which a recipient becomes an AI-generated cartoon portrait that grows as colleagues sign, ending in a reveal. Access to a card is controlled by its links and a secret admin token rather than user accounts — keep your admin link private.
Your responsibilities
- You must have the recipient’s permission to upload and use their photo.
- You will only upload content you have the right to use, and nothing unlawful, hateful, harassing, infringing, or sexually explicit.
- You are responsible for the content you and your team add to a card.
We may remove content or cards that violate these terms or that we believe are abusive.
Photo consent & your warranty
If you upload a photo of a person, you represent and warrant that you have obtained that person’s informed consent to have their photograph uploaded and turned into a stylized portrait, including any consent required under applicable biometric- and data-privacy laws. Do not upload a photo of anyone who has not agreed, and do not upload a photo of a minor without verifiable consent from a parent or guardian.
You agree to indemnify and hold us and our operators harmless from any claim, damage, or liability arising from a photo you upload without the necessary consent, or otherwise from your breach of these terms. If a person asks us to remove their likeness, we may do so.
Payment & refunds
A card costs a one-time fee of $9.50 (USD), processed by Stripe. Because each card triggers AI generation costs once created, fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or at our discretion (for example, if generation fails). For refund requests, contact hello@portrait-journey.com.
AI-generated content
Portraits are generated by AI and may not be accurate or as expected. They are stylized cartoons, not photographs, and results vary. The service is provided for personal, celebratory use.
Your content
You keep ownership of the photos and text you provide. You grant us a limited license to process and display that content solely to operate the service (including sending it to the AI and email providers described in our Privacy Policy).
Third-party services
We rely on third parties (including Replicate, Anthropic, Supabase, Stripe, Resend, and Vercel). Their availability and terms may affect the service, and we are not responsible for their actions.
Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant card.
Deletion & termination
You can delete a card and all its data at any time from its admin dashboard. We may suspend or remove cards that violate these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
Changes
We may update these terms; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
